Expert Emergency Care in Centre County

The hospital’s state-of-the-art Emergency Department (ED) is staffed with board-certified emergency medicine physicians who offer quick yet thorough care.

“We offer a patient-centered approach to care,” explained Shane Sergent, DO, Penn Highlands Healthcare Central Region Medical Director of Emergency Medicine. “We prioritize higher acuity patients but aim to treat every patient quickly.”

Penn Highlands State College offers 10 private treatment rooms and a trauma room. The ED is open 24/7.
