Penn Highlands Elk Pinecrest Manor Staff Recognized by Dementia Caregiver Support Group
The summer solstice is June 20 which makes it the longest day of the year! On June 20, 2024, members of the Elk County Dementia Caregivers Support Group presented the staff of Penn Highlands Elk Pinecrest Manor with beautifully crafted bottles filled with carnations as well as cookies to recognize their service to residents with dementia. Residents were presented with a planter of pansies for their rooms.
Jeanette Stump and Jack Heatherdale, family members of residents of the Penn Highlands Elk Pinecrest Manor Reflections Unit, and Paula Micale suggested the special way to recognize the caregivers and residents on the longest day.
The bottles were individually decorated and filled by Saige and Sariah Micale. Goetz Flowers provided the carnations. The cookies were courtesy of Bobbie Samick and Penn Highlands Adult Day Center in St. Marys, Pa. Morning Glory Greenhouse graciously donated the pansies.
