Rick Senior named PH DuBois Employee of the Month for June
Rick Senior, food services worker in the Nutrition Services Department of Penn Highlands DuBois, has been named the June 2015 Employee of the Month for PH DuBois.
Rick is responsible for ordering and receiving products for the day-to-day operation of the kitchen and cafeteria, delivering food items to the East Campus from the West Campus of PH DuBois and stocking coolers throughout the PH DuBois West building for patient care. He is also a member of the Employee Safety Committee.
Rick joined PH DuBois on June 6, 2005.
“My favorite part of my job is working with such great people in a team environment to be sure that they have the products necessary to do their jobs to ensure that our patients are receiving their proper diets,” Rick said.
“Everything that Rick does on a daily basis makes him very valuable to our department,” Kendra Crabtree, direct of Food Services at PH DuBois, said. “Rick completes the work of several employees and never has a negative word to say.”
“I like to think of everyone I encounter in my job as a customer, whether they are a patient’s family member or a co-worker. I try to go ‘above and beyond’ to provide excellent customer service,” Rick said.
“We wanted to especially recognize Rick for something special he did back in May,” Kendra continued. “Rick had requested vacation several months in advance, and he was scheduled for the vacation in the next week of the schedule. At the last minute, one of his co-workers had to take several days off and Rick agreed to come in on his vacation. We did not know at the time that he had scheduled his vacation in part to celebrate his 31st wedding anniversary and ended coming into work on his anniversary. Rick did not complain or make any negative comments. It is great to work with someone so positive all the time.”
Rick is a native and current resident of DuBois. He and his wife, Toni, have one daughter, Chelsea Senior. He is also a weather enthusiast and a political junkie.
