PH DuBois Employee of the Month - December
Miriah Coddington
Miriah Coddington, a registered nurse in the Pediatrics Unit at Penn Highlands DuBois is the December 2015 Employee of the Month at PH DuBois.
Miriah is responsible for the care of hospitalized children up to age 18. She also assists the Short Stay Unit with administering outpatient infusions.
She started at PH DuBois in September 2014. She received her associate’s degree in nursing from Lock Haven University and is currently enrolled in Chamberlin College of Nursing for her bachelor’s degree. She is also certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support through the American Heart Association.
“My favorite part of my job is working with children of all ages,” Miriah said.
“Miriah loves to learn. She seeks learning opportunities on a regular basis,” Vonda Evans, RN, director of Pediatrics, Pre-Surgery Clinic and Short Stay Procedures Unit, said. “She is an exceptional team player. She offers to work extra. She also always makes herself available to her co-workers when they need a hand.”
“Miriah is energetic and positive. She puts patients at ease with her positive, compassionate demeanor. This is appreciated by parents of the pediatric patients. Miriah collaborates with all members of the healthcare team. She interacts with the physicians in a positive way which instills confidence.
“Miriah is very dependable she rarely calls off from scheduled work and often works extra shifts. If a team member needs a shift off, Miriah often offers to work without being asked. Miriah is professional in her work. She is involved in Pathways to Excellence and seeks to uplift nursing as a profession.
Miriah is a native and current resident of Clearfield.
