PH DuBois BHS Garners Award
Penn Highlands DuBois is proud to announce it has been named a 2014 Guardian of Excellence Award winner by Press Ganey Associates, Inc. This Guardian of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing facilities that consistently achieved the 95th percentile of performance in Behavioral Health Services.
The Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award is a nationally-recognized symbol of achievement in health care. Presented annually, the award honors clients who consistently sustained performance in the top 5 percent of all Press Ganey clients for each reporting period during the course of one year.
Press Ganey is the nation’s leading health care performance improvement company and partners with more than 11,000 health care facilities, including more than half of all U.S. hospitals, to measure and improve the patient experience.
“We are proud to partner with Penn Highlands DuBois,” said Patrick T. Ryan, CEO of Press Ganey. “The award is a testament to the organization’s commitment to deliver more patient-centered care. By achieving and sustaining this level of excellence, PH DuBois is benefiting patients and helping advance the quality of health care.”
“This is an honor to receive this award for the second year in a row!” said Amy Bankovic, assistant vice president, Behavioral Health Services, Penn Highlands DuBois. “Our behavioral health team at Penn Highlands DuBois has focused their efforts on providing top notch care to our patients. We have done this by targeting our admission and discharge processes. We know that an inpatient behavioral health admission can be a scary thing for patients so calming their anxieties right away is key to increasing the benefits of their stay.”
“Planning for a patient’s successful discharge requires communication not only with the patients but also to outside providers who will continue outpatient services,” she continued. “We coordinate these services and also follow up with our patients after discharge to ensure their transition back home goes as smoothly as possible. Our goal is to partner with our patients and this can only be done by having them play an integral role in their treatment.”
