Penn Highlands DuBois Employee Of The Month For Oct. 2016

Jennifer Geer, clerical data analyst in Surgical Services, has been named Employee of the Month for Penn Highlands DuBois for October 2016.

Jennifer works on operating room statistics, block utilization charges and the OR schedule for staff.

She started at PH DuBois on Nov. 11, 2002. Before going to the Surgical Services Unit, she was the department secretary for Third Floor until Feb. 13, 2006, and the staffing coordinator for Patient Services in the supervisors’ office until March 6, 2010.

She has an associate’s degree in specialized business – administrative medical assistance from the DuBois Business College and is certified in Microsoft Office.

“I’m a numbers person so I enjoy doing the statistics and block utilization,” Jennifer said. “I also work with some of the best people in Penn Highlands. The OR staff are wonderful people who I consider family.”

“Jen works as the OR clinical data analyst on a daily basis, but can switch gears at a moment’s notice and take care of the Surgical Scheduling Office when needed,” Christa Aycock, RN and director of Perioperative Services, said.

“Jen is on hospital-wide committees working to enhance work flow processes and is in general everyone’s ‘go-to’ person. She tracks patients, staff, surgeons, equipment and sales reps. She is professional at all times, polite, courteous and considerate no matter what is going on around her. She genuinely cares and is distraught if she feels she hasn’t given 100 percent at all times.”

“Her positive attitude helps you when you think you can’t go on,” Christa said. “I can’t thank her enough for everything she does each and every day. She is a huge asset not only to our department but to the entire health system as well.”

A native of DuBois, Jennifer is married to Anthony “Tony” Geer, and they live in DuBois with their three children: Mia, 15; Aleigha, 13; and Peyton, 7.
