New Retinal Specialist Joins Penn Highlands Medical Staff
The staff and physicians at Penn Highlands Ophthalmology are pleased to announce the addition of board certified ophthalmologist and vitreo-retinal specialist Marc F. G. Estafanous, MD.
Comprehensive vitreo-retinal care is now available in DuBois through the services of Dr. Estafanous and the additional eye surgeons in the Penn Highlands Healthcare system.
Estafanous is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and sees patients at the Penn Highlands Ophthalmology office at 865 Beaver Drive, DuBois. He performs surgeries at Penn Highlands DuBois. He is a member of Vitreo-Retinal Consultants of Hermitage, Pennsylvania.
“It’s exciting to be back in this region seeing patients,” Estafanous said. “I believe that I can help fill a need for vitreo-retinal care and work very well with the ophthalmology staff at Penn Highlands.”
Estafanous graduated with honors with a degree in Mathematics and Psychology from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He attended medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., and completed his residency training in ophthalmology at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He completed his fellowship subspecialty training in vitreo-retinal disorders at the Jules Stein Eye Institute in Los Angeles, California. He has been a valued member of the medical staff at Vitreo-Retinal Consultants since 2003.
“The mission of Penn Highlands Healthcare is to improve regional access to advanced health services like the medical and surgical care that Dr. Estafanous provides,” PH DuBois president John Sutika said. “Through this partnership, Penn Highlands Healthcare is able to partner with a group of board certified specialists, providing yet another skilled surgeon to our line-up of outstanding eye care professionals.”
Two additional physicians from Vitreo-Retinal Consultants, Stephen R. Kaufman, MD, and Stephen M. Conti, MD, are also part of the Penn Highlands DuBois medical staff and are available for additional consultations when necessary.
